I’ve been working hard on coding the new site. I haven’t had much to say because it’s been a little mundane! But, I thought I’d share some icons I’ve been working on to give you a taste of the new look sectionz.
I’m starting to code the interesting features of the site. As we start the beta trial early next year you can provide feedback and help shape the future of the new sectionz.

Welcome to the SectionZ.com design and development blog

SectionZ.com is the home to thousands of music producers over the last 10 years.

The code and system, that was cutting edge for it’s time, has grown but the underlying technology has not scaled well with the additional features. As a result the site is hard to maintain and very buggy.

A more up-to-date system is required. This will enable even more growth and less bugs - which leads to a better user experience.

So, we a re-writing SectionZ.com from scratch. The concept, ethos and purpose of SectionZ.com is not changing. For phase 1, the feature list will remain pretty much the same but the implementation of these features will be made much more user friendly. The layout and navigation will be significantly improved. After that, we can start to implement more features with a solid code base.

We’ve already implemented a significant amount of code for user authentication, authorization, registration, email system, user profiles, mp3 uploads, image uploads and the review system.

When the new site is close to being ready, you will have the opportunity to signup to test out the beta version before it goes live.

Over the next few months we will keep you updated by posting to this blog.
